What is the format of the course?

All courses have both a theory and practical component. All delegates will be expected to engage in the practical component of the courses. Exceptions to this are made on medical or other reasonable grounds and should be discussed with the course tutor directly prior to training commencing.

What should I wear for the course?

Dress is dependent on the nature of the course. For acupuncture and dry needling courses it is advised that you wear comfortable, loose clothing that permits access to the extremities, neck, and lower back. It is advisable to bring shorts and a short-sleeved top for the practical elements of the courses.

I am pregnant, can I still attend this training?

Yes, you can attend any of our courses whilst pregnant at your own discretion, however please contact and notify your tutor beforehand as they may advise against you being needled. If you are unsure, please contact us directly to discuss your concerns.

I have a disability, what adjustments can you make to assist me?

We aim to support and enable all individuals to successfully complete courses undertaken with us. We subscribe to the CSP Equity Diversity and Belonging Strategy and welcome all suitably qualified individuals to partake in the courses. We will endeavour to provide the required support where indicated.

I am HIV / HEP B positive; can I still attend?

Yes, you may still attend the course and any necessary precautions to ensure your safety and that of fellow delegates will be implemented and maintained at all times.

Due to my current role, I do not have access to patients, can I still attend?

Yes, you can still attend. Whilst you may not have regular access to a patient list, alternate suitable candidates may be utilised to enable you to complete your practice outside of the formal teaching sessions.

I work in private practice and do not have a licence; can I still attend?

Yes, you may commence the course before registering for a local council borough licence via the Miscellaneous Act 1982.

Am I insured to practice during the course?

Yes, if you are a HCPC and CSP member, you are insured for the practice of acupuncture and dry needling as these falls within the scope of practice of physiotherapists. Notable excepts from the CSP insurance policy include acupuncture for cosmetic purposes and acupuncture for fertility. Separate insurance can be obtained for both practices from Balens via their Affinity scheme following successful completion of an appropriate course with us. Professionals outside of physiotherapy may also be covered by their existing insurance policy but it is recommended that all delegates check their individual insurance policy status prior to the commencement of any courses.
